KPFK is listener-sponsored free speech community oriented radio with a mission of peace, justice and education. It relies almost exclusively on listeners to keep operating — not corporate underwriting or government money with strings attached. The station must raise the money from listeners, mostly through on-air fund-drives — please donate generously during May’s fund drive by calling 818-985-5735; you can also take pledge calls by coming in to the station at 3729 Cahuenga Blvd. West in Studio City,
The KPFK Volunteer Program provides an important opportunity to participate and contribute to one of the most important and significant news and information organizations in the US. The program is designed to provide opportunities to community members of Southern California and the college campuses within our listening area.
You can also apply to be a part of KPFK’s new People’s School of Broadcasting, a 16 week training program to teach you everything you need to know to run KPFK. Admissions reopen June 1. For more information and to schedule a brief interview, email at kpfkfuture@gmail.com . Please try to include a little about yourself and a resume. If you are interested in working with any of our Public Affairs programs such as Sojourner Truth, Uprising or Background Briefing, our Safe Harbor programming, or our amazing and diverse music shows, please also include a writing sample.
