Elections for listener-sponsor and staff delegates to Local Station Boards at KPFK and two other Pacifica radio stations, WBAI in New York and KPFT in Houston, are continuing until Monday, January 4, 2016. If you donated at least $25, or volunteered at least 3 hours, to KPFK between August 17, 2014 and August 16, 2015 and have not yet voted you can still do so. Information about the election process and candidates is on-line at https://elections.pacifica.org (also linked to via the http://www.kpfk.org website).
The National Elections Supervisor, L. Joy Williams, who extended the ballot close date to ensure the station could reach a quorum after the local election supervisor took ill and could not complete the on-air candidate forums, has announced that she will be at KPFK on the last day to accept in-person delivery of paper ballots or accommodate e-ballot voting. The station is located at 3729 Cahuenga Blvd. West, near the Lankershim exit of the 101 or the Universal Studios stop of the Metro Red Line. If you misplaced or did not receive a ballot, contact the NES immediately at NES@pacifica.org.
As we go to press, additional bilingual on-air candidate forums are scheduled during KPFK’s Spanish-language programming block, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Dec. 28-30 at 9 pm each night for an hour. You can catch them live on the radio at 90.7 FM or on-line at kpfk.org. You can also listen to the on-air English-language candidate forums at https://archive.kpfk.org/ – scroll through the archive listings to Monday, November 30 through Friday, December 4 (starting at 7 pm each evening).
