Roy of Hollywood Tuckman, KPFK late night host, passes away

Roy Tuckman, AKA Roy of Hollywood, hosted KPFK’s overnight “Something’s Happening” program from midnight to 6 AM for 50 of the station’s 64 years on the air, with a mix of spirituality, alternative health care, old time radio and political analysis and commentary. In his 80s, Roy passed away late in April in the company of his wife “Lady Di” Diane Schmidt after an illness and hospitalization. The station is planning a memorial tribute to the long-time host, who also produced the Alan Watts recordings that helped popularize Buddhism to Western audiences.
